There are two main reasons you can score great deals on TVs (think Black Friday prices) in February:

⇒ It’s Super Bowl month, meaning many shoppers are looking for discounts on big-screen TVs for the game.  Retailers such as Best Buy discount TVs in the days leading up to the big game because of this.

⇒ The Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas takes place this month where all the new TV models came out, causing retailers to mark down the prices f last season’s models.

Winter Accessories

Toward the end of the month of February, you’ll see nice discounts on items like humidifiers and other winter related items.

Presidents’ Day will be a good time to buy clothing in general, but February is also great for deals on clearance winter apparel.  Retailers will be clearing remaining winter inventory to make way for their spring inventory.  This means deep discounts on outerwear, coats, gloves, hats, and more.  You will even see deals on top of existing sale prices.  Be sure to stock up for next year!

The Best Things To Buy In May

Waiting until just the right moment to buy something is one of the best things you can do to save money.

Health and Beauty

The month of May is a great time to buy and stock up on items such as sunscreen and perfume.  There will be plenty of coupons available online and in inserts for these products this month.

Mattresses

May is the one of the best (if not the best) month to buy a new mattress.  Here a few reasons why:

  1. Seasonality
  2. Stores are trying to clear out their older model mattresses in preparation for Memorial Day sales
  3. “Spring cleaning” and rejuvenation mentality this time of year
  4. Travel months beginning (visitors need a place to sleep)

You should be able to find deals from 50%-70% off  at mattress retailers.  Look for coupons or price-matching offers to stack onto these deals.

Memorial Day Sales

Memorial Day sales will star appearing as early as May 12, weeks ahead of the big 3-day weekend.  These sales are known for their stackable discounts.  Furniture, clothing (see below), and mattresses (see above) are just a few of the items that you will find discounts for.

Refrigerators

You can find great appliance deals also in May, particularly on refrigerators.

Refrigerator manufacturers start unveiling new models in May and June, which means older models are put on sale.  This, combined with Memorial Day bargains, means you’ll see for discounts up to 80% off.

Spring Apparel

Since department stores and clothing retailers are in clearance mode preparing to make room for summer styles, May is a good time to buy spring apparel.  Those shorts that you were interested in buying last month are now probably available for much cheaper.

Especially on Memorial Day weekend, discounts of 40-75% on spring apparel can be had.  Be on the look out for discount codes to use on top of already reduced prices at stores such as Macy’s and Kohl’s.
